About me

As an Advanced Practice Nurse, I am excited to share my expertise with you through the lens of The Nurse Practitioner. The world has gotten so much smaller in the age of the internet, you can Google most anything and have an answer in seconds, but a simple search is no match for years of clinical experience and critical thinking. With a keen eye for detail and my clinical experience I can write medical pros for your company with a deep understanding of the science and its use in the clinical setting. I have the capability to break down clinically technical information and write a well organized article fitting for the average person to easily comprehend. It is my passion to empower healthcare consumers with reliable information in a way that they can understand and use to advocate for themselves and their families, in order to make informed decisions.

At The Nurse Practitioner, Julie Grayson, MSN, FNP-C is committed to providing creditable information you can trust. With over 28 years of experience in various health care settings, Julie’s work as an educator has always been her passion. She most enjoyed being a nurse educator, teaching the next generation of nurses, as well as, teaching patients and family members at the bedside. Educational topics spanned from preventative medicine, healthy lifestyle, diet and exercise, to chronic disease and cancer. As a nurse practitioner she has continued to educate her peers, APN’s along with residents and medical doctors. Julie has formulated a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, and now would like to share her knowledge and expertise with the healthcare consumer.

Educational Milestones

My educational journey has been a testament to my dedication and perseverance. From earning my nursing degree in 1996 to completing my advanced practice nursing certification in 2018, I have continuously expanded my knowledge and expertise and continue to do so.

Professional Experience

As a nurse, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of healthcare settings, including, Home Care, as a Director of Nursing, Nurse Educator at an LPN school, acute care in multiple ICU’s and most recently as a Family Nurse Practitioner as a Hospitalist. Through these experiences, I have honed my clinical skills and developed a deep understanding of the complex healthcare system.

Patient-Centered Approach

Health Care is not a one size fits all approach. Patients have different health literacy, customs, and beliefs. I believe that the key to delivering exceptional healthcare lies in empowering patients to be active participants in their own health care and to be well informed with evidenced based medicine guiding the way.
